SCORES Portal

SCORES Portal
  • Context: In May, SEBI resolved 4,493 complaints through its SEBI Complaint Redressal System (SCORES) portal, which helps investors lodge and track complaints against listed companies and registered intermediaries.

  • Important Pointers:

  • SCORES: SCORES (SEBI Complaints Redress System) is a web-based centralized grievance redress platform launched by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in 2011.

  • Purpose: It enables investors to lodge, follow up, and track the status of their complaints online from anywhere.

  • Functionality: SCORES allows listed companies and market intermediaries to receive, address, and report complaints online.

  • Offline Access: Investors unfamiliar with or without access to SCORES can submit physical complaints at SEBI offices, which are then scanned and uploaded to the platform.

  • Complaint Coverage: Issues covered include those under the SEBI Act, Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, Depositories Act, and Companies Act, 2013.

  • Entities Covered: Complaints can be lodged against listed companies, registrar & transfer agents, stock brokers, stock exchanges, depository participants, depositories, mutual funds, portfolio managers, and others like Know Your Customer (KYC) agencies, collective investment schemes, merchant bankers, credit rating agencies, and foreign institutional investors.
