The government launched NAVYA (Nurturing Aspirations through Vocational Training for Young Adolescent Girls), a joint pilot initiative under Viksit Bharat@2047 to skill Class 10-pass girls aged 16–18 in non-traditional job roles across 27 districts.

NAVYA stands for Nurturing Aspirations through Vocational Training for Young Adolescent Girls.
It was launched on 24th June 2025 in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, under the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision.
It is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
It targets adolescent girls aged 16–18 years with at least a Class 10 qualification.
Its focus is on providing vocational training in non-traditional job roles, promoting gender inclusion in emerging sectors.
It is implemented as a pilot in 27 districts across 19 states, including Aspirational Districts and those from the North-Eastern Region.
The initiative draws from existing skilling schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
PMKVY and PM Vishwakarma certificates will be distributed to adolescent girl trainees during the launch event.
It aims to empower girls with skills, confidence, and economic opportunities, making them active agents in India’s development.
It reflects the government’s commitment to women-led development, inclusive growth, and youth empowerment under Viksit Bharat@2047.
