Interpol Notice Types and Blue Corner Notice
Context:
Interpol has issued a Blue Corner Notice against Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, owners of the Goa club Birch by Romeo Lane following a fire that claimed 25 lives.
The brothers are believed to have fled to Thailand.
The notice was issued at the request of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
About Blue Corner Notice:
It is also known as an enquiry notice.
It is used to collect additional information about a person’s identity, location, or activities in relation to a criminal investigation.
It is typically issued to locate someone who is missing, an unidentified international criminal, or wanted for a violation of ordinary criminal law.
It is usually issued prior to or immediately after filing criminal charges.
The CBI website refers to these as 'B Series (Blue) Notices'.
