From August 15, private vehicle owners can avail a ₹3,000 annual FASTag pass for 200 trips on National Highways, aimed at easing toll costs and promoting smoother travel.
What You Should Know?
FASTag is an electronic toll collection system using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.
It is managed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
The tag is affixed on the windscreen of the vehicle.
It enables automatic toll deduction from a linked bank account or prepaid wallet without stopping at toll plazas.
It is valid for 5 years from the date of issuance.
It comes in 7 colour codes based on vehicle category.
It is supported by NHAI mobile apps like MyFASTag and FASTag Partner.
FASTag-based Annual Pass:
It is announced for non-commercial private vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans that aim to reduce congestion, wait times, and disputes at toll plazas.
It is priced at ₹3,000, effective from August 15, 2025.
It is valid for one year or 200 toll plaza trips, whichever is earlier. Each crossing of a toll plaza is counted as one trip.
It addresses concerns of frequent toll plazas within the 60 km range.
It is to be activated and renewed via the Rajmarg Yatra App and NHAI/ Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) websites.
