Exercise Garuda 2025
Context:
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is participating in the 8th edition of the bilateral air exercise Garuda 25 with the French Air and Space Force (FASF).
The exercise is being held at Mont-de-Marsan, France.
Participating Assets:
The IAF contingent is participating with Su-30MKI fighter aircraft
Support Aircraft:
C-17 Globemaster III:
It is providing airlift support for the induction and de-induction phases
IL-78:
These are air-to-air refuelling tankers utilised for extending the range and endurance of the fighters
Objectives and Focus Areas:
The exercise involves operating alongside French multirole fighters in complex simulated air combat scenarios, specifically focusing on air-to-air combat, air defence, and joint strike operations.
It aims to refine tactics and procedures in a realistic operational environment, fostering mutual learning and interoperability between the two Air Forces
