  • Context:

  • The Union Cabinet recently approved the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna (BHAVYA) with a massive allocation of ₹33,660 crore.

  • This landmark initiative aims to accelerate India's manufacturing-led economic growth by developing 100 plug-and-play industrial parks across the country

  • About the BHAVYA Scheme:

  • The scheme will deliver plug-and-play industrial ecosystems, enabling industries to move from intent to production with speed and certainty.

  • With pre-approved land, ready infrastructure, and integrated services, BHAVYA will significantly reduce entry barriers for investors.

  • It directly supports the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat.

  • The "Plug-and-Play" Model:

  • This model is designed to drastically improve the ease of doing business.

  • It provides investors with pre-approved land, necessary utilities, integrated ICT systems, and single-window clearances, eliminating traditional bottlenecks like land acquisition and infrastructure setup delays.

  • Implementation and Infrastructure:

  • The scheme targets the development of industrial parks ranging from 100 to 1,000 acres each.

  • The Centre will provide financial assistance of up to ₹1 crore per acre for core infrastructure (internal roads, drainage, common treatment facilities).

  • Furthermore, additional support of up to 25% of the project cost will be provided to ensure seamless external connectivity.

  • Aligned with the PM GatiShakti Principles to enable seamless multimodal connectivity and efficient last-mile access

  • Building on the framework of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP) spearheaded by NICDC, the scheme will be executed in collaboration with State governments and private sector players.

  • Expected Impact:

  • The initiative is expected to generate direct and indirect jobs across the logistics and services sectors.

  • Primary beneficiaries include manufacturing units, MSMEs, startups, and global investors looking for ready-to-use facilities.

  • Secondary beneficiaries: Workers, logistics providers, service sector enterprises, and local communities

  • About NICDC:

  • It is under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry

  • It is spearheading the development of world-class greenfield industrial smart cities to enhance manufacturing competitiveness, attract investments, and generate employment.

  • NICDC is currently implementing 20 projects across 13 states.
